Welcome, Welcome, Welcome!

My name is Tonya Deese, and I am currently a Graduate student at SUNY Plattsburgh. Originally from Ithaca NY-well, I am from the small neighboring farm town of Dryden, NY but seemingly not a single soul has heard of the town, so we will stick with the city of Ithaca, which is located roughly forty-five minutes from Syracuse.

After high school I didn’t run away from my hometown as so many others did. I went to a community college and obtained my Associates in Early Education and Development-Fall 2011. Randomly right when I was about to graduate I was presented with the newly five-year education program being offered here at SUNY Plattsburgh. Without hesitation I was attending SUNY Plattsburgh the following 2012 spring semester.

December 2013, after some serious altering, course dropping/adding, meetings and questions, I graduate with an Individualized General Studies in Education Bachelors degree! But, I wasn’t done; no way was I ready to leave SUNY Plattsburgh. I wanted to MOVE here I loved it so much. So that I did and that is where I stand today a graduate student working towards a Masters in Student Affairs Counseling living in the beautiful North Country of the Adirondacks.
